Police spokesperson Tintswalo Ndhambi says motorists should never stop, but drive to the nearest police station or a busy area where it is safe to stop.

Ndhambi says there have been some reports of unmarked vehicles with blue lights, stopping and robbing people.

Ndhambi add the imposters reportedly wear police uniforms, and are hijacking vehicles - dropping victims off at random places.

Motorists are urged to contact the police, or local security companies, should they feel like they are in danger. No arrests have been made.
