NW labour centre opens after #WaterCrisis─── KATLEHO MORAPELA 15:16 Thu, 28 Jan 2021
The Klerksdorp Labour Centre in the North West has resumed its services following its closure due to a water crisis.
OFM News reported on how the centre and other government departments housed at the PC Pelser Building had to close its doors due to the water shortage that has plagued the building since last week.
According to the Labour and Employment Department, a prohibition notice was issued for the whole building, which also accommodates officials from Statistics South Africa, Rural Development and Land Reform, the Office of the Public Protector, and the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA).
The local Matlosana Municipality’s Ntswaki Makgetha has told OFM News the problem was with their building, not on the municipal side, as they had a private plumber working on the water pipes internally leading to their water flow challenges.
Mampuru now confirms water supply has been restored at the Klerksdorp Labour Centre and that it is all systems go.
