Situation back to normal at MAP Water─── 06:47 Fri, 29 Jan 2021
A wage dispute at Maluti-A-Phofung Water (MAP Water) in the Free State has been addressed.
That, after employees stayed home this week because their salaries were reportedly reduced by 72%.
However, their full salaries have since been paid and they are now back at their posts.
Samwu chairperson in this region, Mojalefa Miya, earlier indicated that if the municipality were to pay the employees, they would return as soon as possible.
MAP Water's management met with the union and employees to come up with a solution to this problem.
Miya says residents will now have clean running water again with workers' return, although it will apparently take time because there is still dirty water left in dams and pipes.
