This, after they were arrested following an armed robbery in Springbok where they allegedly fired shots and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police spokesperson, Sergio Kock, says the police managed to arrest the suspects at a house in Okiep following a tip-off.

He confirms firearms and a vehicle that was allegedly used in the commission of a crime were also confiscated.

Kock says it has been discovered that the fifth suspect was en route to Kuruman and the police alerted the teams in Upington, Olifantshoek, Kathu, Kuruman and other security companies for backup. He confirms the suspect was then arrested on the N14 road near Kathu.

"Preliminary investigation revealed that the same suspects could possibly be linked to multiple cases in the Upington and Kuruman areas and it is believed that they utilise rental vehicles to commit crimes," he said.

The suspects made their first court appearance on Friday and were remanded in custody.

They are expected to reappear before the Springbok Magistrate's Court for a formal bail application on Tuesday.
