This, after the National Executive Committee (NEC) has decided that all branches, regions and provincial conferences that are due, must be allowed to take place by 30 April 2021, in compliance with the ANC constitution and Covid-19 regulations and guidelines.

The ANC Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) has meanwhile endorsed several dates for provincial and regional conferences, stating that the provincial one will take place from March 26-28, while the regional conference will take effect from April 23.

ANC Provincial Secretary, Deshi Ngxanga, has in a statement outlined that regional conferences in the Frances Baard, Namakwa and Pixley Ka Seme regions will take place between the 23rd and the 25th of April, while conferences in the ZF Mgcawu and John Toalo Gaetsewe regions will take place between April 20 and May 2nd.

"The NEC further stated that provinces and regions whose terms expire beyond May 2021, should not be disbanded during the Local Government Elections Campaign, rather their terms should be extended," he added.

He says preparations for these conferences are underway.
