NW Post Office reopened─── LUCKY NKUYANE 06:31 Thu, 11 Feb 2021
The South African Post Office has appointed queue marshals to address the issue of non-adherence to Covid-19 regulations at its Wolmaransstad post offices in North West.
This after the MEC for Health, Madoda Sambatha, announced that the entity was one of two institutions ordered to shut down for failure to comply with the rules.
Post Office SA spokesperson, Johan Kruger, says two queue marshals have been appointed to ensure that social distancing is observed among customers, even those outside the Post Office premises. He says the Post Office is committed to following all Covid-19 regulations.
Kruger confirms that the Post Office reopened for business on Wednesday, following the closure ordered by the MEC.
"In line with this, social distancing, the wearing of a mask and sanitising is compulsory for all customers who enter the premises of Post Office branches.
"The Post Office also follows guidelines regarding the maximum number of people that are allowed into a public space. It should be noted, however, that the Post Office does not have jurisdiction or control over members of the public outside its premises," Kruger adds.
