FS MEC confident ahead of #MatricResults─── KATLEHO MORAPELA 09:58 Tue, 16 Feb 2021
With only a week to go before the Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga releases the 2020 matric results, Free State Education MEC Tate Makgoe has expressed his confidence in the education system in the province.
Makgoe on Monday expressed confidence that schools across the province are committed to teaching and learning despite the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
He told members of the media gathered at the Nozala, St Mary’s and Marang Primary Schools - where he was monitoring their state of readiness for the new academic year - that he is confident the province will continue producing great results. Makgoe said he is pleased that schools continue to perform well under the "new normal" presented by the Covid-19 pandemic and that he is confident teachers and learners will during the 2021 academic year raise the bar.
Over 29 300 grade 12 learners across the province sat for the 2020 National Senior Certificate (NSC) exams.
Motshekga will release the 2020 matric results for government schools on February 22. Students from the 2020 matric academic year will be able to access their results on February 23 via SMS, USSD, newspapers, online or at their examination centres.
