The Hawks' provincial spokesperson, Christopher Singo, says the matter was postponed to 29 March 2021. This was the second time Motseki Leine, known as “Ba2cada”, appeared in the lower court after he was released on R5000 bail last month. He was nabbed by the Hawks after the South African Revenue Services (SARS) reported him to the authorities over suspicions of fraud activities. Leine is alleged to have submitted false VAT returns worth more than R1,7 million between 2014 and 2018.

The Botshabelo-born presenter earlier responded to his arrest and said he will prove that he does not make a lot of money as it has been alleged.

He conceded that he has issued tax returns and added that "unfortunately as young business people, issues of tax returns are a challenge that many face".
