The accused’s court appearance stems from their apprehension on Sunday at about 07:30 on the R511 (Thabazimbi) road at Assen near Brits.

According to police spokesperson, Sam Tselenyane, Assen police were busy patrolling on the R511 road when they were alerted by the local security company about a suspicious Toyota Hilux double cab vehicle. A car chase ensued.

The vehicle was eventually pulled off and upon searching it, two rifles and two shotguns were found attached to the chassis while a revolver and 27 live rounds together with a suspected stolen laptop were found in the vehicle.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects were allegedly involved in a house robbery at Thabazimbi in Limpopo.
