The boy was found on Sunday at about 08:00 in Wolmaransstad. 

Due to his young age, he could not provide information on his address. According to police spokesperson Adele Myburgh, the 22-year-old mother was arrested soon after. 

This followed after a family member saw on Facebook that the Wolmaranstad SAPS was looking for her, and accompanied her to the local police station. She will appear in court on a charge of child neglect.
