Racism allegations hit Bfn school─── KATLEHO MORAPELA 10:42 Fri, 26 Mar 2021
The Free State Department of Education says an investigation into allegations of racism is underway at the HTS Louis Botha Technical High School in Bloemfontein.
A video with a learner complaining about a teacher's alleged racist comment is being distributed on social media. He alleges there is racial tension at the school following the racial slur by one of the teachers.
The video depicts the learner with a petition signed by several other learners at school, calling for an end to the alleged racism at the school.
The departmental spokesperson, Howard Ndaba, in a response to OFM News’ inquiry confirms the department is investigating the matter. Ndaba confirmed officials from the department are “at school today to kick-start the investigation”. He is soon expected to outline the outcome of the investigation, as well as remedial actions.
This is a developing story.
