Mashinini warns against lawlessness─── KATLEHO MORAPELA 08:37 Sat, 27 Mar 2021
With Easter holidays fast approaching, the Free State MEC for Police, Roads and Transport, Sam Mashinini, is appealing to motorist to be cautious on the road.
Mashinini, tabling his department’s 2021/22 budget before Members of the Provincial Legislature on Friday, said they are expecting traffic volumes to peak this coming week and urged all road users to abide by traffic laws.
Mashinini further indicated that in the 2021/22 financial year there will be more visible law enforcement, as they are planning to appoint 30 additional traffic officers.
He warned that no lawlessness will be tolerated in the province.
Mashinini’s statement comes just days before Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula is expected to officially launch the 2021 Easter Road Safety Campaign at the N4 Bapong Weighbridge in the North West.
