Eight suspects arrested for business robbery and being in possession of unlicensed firearms in the Free State are expected to appear in the Clocolan Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.
The group was arrested in Ficksburg following an intensive search operation by the police. Police spokesperson, Thandi Mbambo, says they were arrested after a complaint about a robbery at the Clocolan Post Office, where they attacked employees and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash as well as one of the complainant’s vehicles.
Mbambo says the suspects were arrested in possession of three pistols, cash, all the Post office's keys and the complainant's vehicle.
Meanwhile, the acting Provincial Commissioner of the Free State, Solly Lesia, has applauded the police for the arrests and warned that no criminal activities will be tolerated in the province.
