House robbery suspect due in FS court─── KATLEHO MORAPELA 10:13 Sat, 17 Apr 2021
A 29-year-old suspect in the Free State is expected to appear before the Phuthaditjhaba Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
This, after he was arrested in possession of stolen goods that have since been positively identified by victims.
Police spokesperson, Thandi Mbambo, says the house robbery suspect could be linked to other charges following a spate of house robberies and attempted murders in the areas of Masimong and Marakong.
She says investigations into several cases where the suspect might be involved continue.
Meanwhile, the acting Provincial Commissioner of the Free State, Solly Lesia, has applauded the police for the arrest and sent a stern warning against any criminal activities in the province.
Lesia’s warning comes as the Police Deputy Minister, Cassel Mathale, is expected to lead a Community Crime Prevention awareness campaign in the neighbouring North West province amidst increasing concerns over the lack of rural safety.
