They were in possession of Mandrax tablets and dagga on Saturday and subsequently arested.

Police spokesperson, Omphile Masegela, says the pair were arrested by the police following a tip-off about a vehicle that was transporting drugs from the direction of Olifantshoek to Upington.

Masegela says upon a search and seizure operation, drugs worth over R136 000 were found and confiscated.

The suspects' court appearance comes just days after the SAPS Deputy Minister Cassel Mathale sent a stern warning against acts of criminality whilst addressing communities in the North West this past weekend.
