FS accident between train, vehicle claim two lives─── 13:05 Thu, 13 May 2021
Two lives were lost on Thursday morning as a train crashed into a stationary bakkie on the railway crossing near Alpha Farm, at Thaba Nchu.
A case of culpable homicide was opened by police officials for additional investigations.
It is alleged that the train driver noticed the white bakkie on the level crossing and tried to warn its driver.
According to SAPS’ spokesperson, Motantsi Makhele, the two farm workers who died in the accident were allegedly patrolling the farm during the night, before the accident took place on 13 May 2021 at 06:38. They were both declared dead on the scene.
The families of the deceased are still to be informed about the incident, says Makhele.
