Police spokesperson, Motantsi Makhele, tells OFM News "the police are still on a fact-finding mission on this matter and adds that he cannot comment as yet."

Videos and photos of the incident are doing the rounds on social media. Circumstances surrounding this tragic incident or who killed the child are, however, not clear.

Irate Mangaung residents are protesting about the lack of better and quality services and closed off different roads leading out of the township.

Residents used burning tyres, stones, debris, and different objects to close off these roads. At least seven residents have been arrested by the police for public violence and they are set to appear in court within 48 hours.

This is a developing story.
