Northern Cape ANC to discuss regional conference─── KATLEHO MORAPELA 11:43 Sun, 23 May 2021
The ANC in the Northern Cape confirms it will meet on Monday to chart a way forward after it called off the John Taolo Gaetsewe Regional Conference.
The 8th Regional Conference that was supposed to have taken place this weekend was called off until further notice.
ANC Provincial Secretary, Deshi Ngxanga, says the decision was informed by the need to protect the integrity of the conference and to ensure that it’s held in strict compliance with the constitution of the ANC and it’s conference guidelines.
He, in a statement, says the ANC Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) will meet to discuss the region, which includes the towns of Kathu, Kuruman, and Olifantshoek, amongst others, and advise on a further course of action.
OFM News last week reported on how the province made news when disgruntled members of the ANC took to court to interdict the provincial elective conference that is set to take place at the end of the month.
