New #ANC interim structure elected in FS─── KATLEHO MORAPELA 05:29 Wed, 26 May 2021
A new ANC Interim Provincial Task Team (IPTT) has been appointed in the Free State.
This, after former President Kgalema Motlanthe was tasked to oversee the province and to resolve the political unrest in the party. ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa, briefing the media a few weeks ago over the position of the Secretary-General Ace Magashule, announced that they have taken note of in-fights in the Free State and the disbandment of the Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) following an ANC vs ANC court battle.
Ramaphosa announced that the Provincial Task Team will see the province to an elective conference. Magashule's biggest opponent and former Economic Development MEC, Mxolisi Dukwana, has been appointed as the Convener of the structure whilst Free State Premier Sisi Ntombela will serve as his deputy.
Paseka Nompondo will serve in the interim structure as the Coordinator and Polediso Motsoeneng as Deputy Coordinator while Saki Mokoena will be serving as Provincial Head of Elections.
The structure is inclusive of members from the disbanded structure, including the likes of Agriculture MEC William Bulwane, who served as the Chairperson as well as ANC disgruntled members who were popularly known for dragging the party to court.
OFM News has reported that Ramaphosa highlighted that unity in the party is of the essence as the country nears the October 27 municipal elections.
