Future more challenging for prospective students in North West | News Article

Prospective students in the North West might be facing more challenges in the 2021/2022 academic year as the office of the premier, Job Mokgoro, announces a cut in the granting of bursaries.

The provincial government spokesperson, Brian Setswambung, says due to the effects of Covid-19, the office of Mokgoro will not be providing bursaries for this academic year. He says these funds which were earmarked for bursaries, have been re-directed to fight the Covid-19 pandemic in the province. Setswambung, however, says that those who have already been awarded bursaries will be assisted with funds throughout their studies.

“The Office of the Premier will soon issue a notice regarding arrangements for the 2022 academic year. We apologise for the inconvenience this might cause,” Setswambung adds.
