NW father arrested for daughter's murder, abandons bail─── 07:17 Thu, 27 May 2021
A 47-year-old man from Alabama near Klerksdorp in the North West, who is facing charges of kidnapping and murdering his 2-year-old daughter, has abandoned his bail application.
The suspect appeared before the Klerksdorp Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.
Police reports indicate that the child's lifeless body was discovered hidden in the ceiling of the suspect's house.
The man is alleged to have taken the child without her mother's consent.
The province's National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson, Henry Mamothame, told OFM News that the accused abandoned his bail and will remain in police custody until his next court appearance.
The case against the accused has been postponed to 1 July 2021 for further investigations.
