Bloemfontein nurses under investigation─── 11:45 Tue, 01 Jun 2021
The Free State Department of Health is investigating allegations that nurses at a clinic in Phelindaba, Bloemfontein, mistreated a seriously ill patient - who died in a car right in front of the clinic.
The deceased, Papi Moshampa, was rushed to the MUCPP Clinic after he complained about shortness of breath and fatigue after work.
His sister-in-law, Kelebogile Ntlangane, said in an interview with OFM News with their arrival at the clinic, they were prevented from going inside by security personnel, who were instructed by nurses on duty.
Ntlangane said when the nurses eventually came outside to look at the patient, they said it is a case for the mortuary and their shift is over. The Free State Department of Health spokesperson, Mondli Mvambi, confirmed that he was aware of the alleged incident that took place on Friday evening.
“We have requested the management to do a full investigation on the matter to find out what could have happened. We appreciate that we have received evidence that could be used in the investigation from a few sources and we think that information will be useful to the management of the clinic,” explained Mvambi.
