Vaal criminals target substations─── 15:19 Tue, 01 Jun 2021
No arrest have been made after criminals forced security guards to dig up an electrical cable worth R30 000, at a substation in Vereeniging.
The security guards were assaulted last night, and their cellular phones stolen by the criminals.
Two weeks ago, two security guards were shot dead at another substation in Vereeniging, following the theft of a copper cable.
Vaal police spokesperson Fikile Funda says they are appealing to members of the public to come forward with any information that could lead to the arrest of the perpetrators in these two separate incidents.
