Dihlabeng residents urged to use water sparingly─── 07:12 Thu, 03 Jun 2021
The residents of the Dihlabeng Local Municipality in the Free State are urged to use water sparingly.
This follows after the municipality's water supply is under pressure due to ongoing Eskom load-shedding, scheduled to be implemented throughout the week.
According to the municipal spokesperson, Tshediso Maitse, the municipality does not have any option but to urge their customers not to use sprinklers, hose pipes, or refill swimming pools.
He adds that as a result, the municipality is forced to impose water regulations as a matter of necessity. "Water supply will be closed off from 18:00 to 06:00 on Wednesday 2 June 2021. The restrictions will be implemented until the situation has stabilised," says Maitse.
He says the municipality apologises for any obstacle and trusts that the residents will give their cooperation during this trying time.
