FS Premier calls for unity in #ANC─── 15:35 Thu, 03 Jun 2021
The Free State Premier Sisi Ntombela, who is part of the newly appointed African National Congres (ANC) Interim Provincial Committee (IPC), was vocal about unity amongst ANC members in a media briefing that was held earlier on Thursday.
Ntombela, who is appointed as part of the IPC, said that anyone who still has a scar caused by divisions within the ANC party must heal. “I am definitely sure that our people in the Free State are really tired of these divisions because we have realised that these divisions are taking us nowhere,” said Ntombela. She further said that it’s about time that the Free State structures unite and serve their people.
According to the IPC's media statement, the unity of the organisation is considered an unchallengeable principle of the movement, as a result, the IPC does not tolerate any form or divisive measures by any member of its organisation.
The IPC structure was appointed in May, after disgruntled party members won the Supreme Court of Appeal bid, which declared the then Provincial Executive Committee illegitimate and unconstitutional. New structures saw former Economic Development MEC, Mxolisi Dukwana, who was an opponent of the suspended Secretary-General Ace Magashule, being appointed as the convenor and premier Sisi Ntombela, as his deputy, until the elective conference takes place.
