This, as the NCOP Ad Hoc Committee, focused on the Section 100 intervention in the North West, is having an engagement with communities and the provincial government. The committee, chaired by China Dodovu, laid bare the plight faced by communities in the North West and the frustration experienced as a result of the lack of municipal services. 

The EFF and the DA in the province told Dodovu the time has come for the provincial government to take responsibility and address challenges voiced by community members. The parties highlighted the poor state of roads, police stations, lack of adequate schools and houses are amongst the key issues that need to be addressed. This, coupled with municipalities’ inability to provide water and other services to communities. 

The Buamoahi Community Forum has meanwhile also called for accountability amongst all spheres of government, stating that they are tired of poor services hence the province is seeing more service delivery protests.
