FS Education pleased with launch of vaccination programme─── 15:33 Wed, 23 Jun 2021
More than 800 Free State Education personnel have been vaccinated at the Gonyane Primary School in Bloemfontein.
According to the Free State Education spokesperson, Howard Ndaba, this is despite a demonstration by a group of disgruntled educators and non-teaching staff earlier on Wednesday.
The OFM News team earlier reported that a group of educators and support staff had expressed their dissatisfaction at the Gonyane Primary School, where hundreds turned up to receive the Covid-19 vaccine.
“I would like to take this opportunity to really express our sincere gratitude to the teachers, officials, and support staff for really persevering. It was not easy because we had to deal with a high number of people who have presented themselves to this site, but it turned out to be positive as we have covered a large number of people,” said Ndaba.
It is expected that more teachers and support staff will turn up on Thursday to be vaccinated as part of the vaccination campaign “Drop all and vaccinate”. The campaign, launched by the Education MEC, Tate Makgoe, continues.
Teachers and support staff are expected to continue with the vaccination programme until 8 July 2021.
