NW youth advised to invent, register businesses─── 13:16 Fri, 25 Jun 2021
The youth in the North West province has been advised to create employment for themselves and register their businesses.
This is one of the strategies that the North West government is trying to use in dealing with challenges faced by the youth, such as inequality, poverty, and job opportunities. Earlier this week, the Premier of North West, Job Mokgoro, met with the Commissioner of the National Lottery, Thabang Mampane, to discuss various projects that could be funded by the National Lottery. Mampone said that they need women and young people to come together and register Non-Profit Companies (NPCs) at the Department of Trade, Industry, and Competition, or Non-Profit Organisations (NPOs) at the Department of Social Development. She says it is very important to register their businesses and their organisations, as the youth has been experiencing a lot of problems prior to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Problems such as poverty, a lack of job opportunities, and inequality are amongst other things causes for concern. Young people are no longer active in their communities and this can deteriorate their skills and bright future. Mampone has urged the youth to join hands in creating projects that could be funded by the National Lottery Commission.
Meanwhile, Mokgoro has stressed the importance of the youth of coming up with proposals that can be funded. He expressed his excitement about the partnership with the National Lottery Commission and promised to seek more funding to help the youth so that they can cut down on unemployment in the province.
