According to the Education spokesperson, Elias Malindi, 18 307 employees have been vaccinated after 19 200 doses were delivered in the province.

“I am very pleased by the vaccination turnout in the North West Province. Our employees came out in numbers and we envisage a 100% completed vaccination drive by Wednesday 8 July 2021 as they closed schools following President Ramaphosa’s call on early recess. It is a relief to know that our teachers are taking care of their well-being through this vaccination programme. I trust that Phase 2 of the rollout is greatly anticipated,” said Matsemela.

She further stated that phase 2 is anticipated to include 24 000 education staff members.
