NW premier concerned about health workers' behaviour amid third wave | News Article

The North West Premier Job Mokgoro has lashed out at people who blame the government because of the rise in Covid-19 infections.

Mokgoro said nurses have recorded a higher number of Covid-19 infections within health structures than general workers.

Mokgoro said that this is due to their social lifestyle and not observing Covid-19 protocols. He cited that some of these health workers get affected because they attend funerals and parties and do not abide to the protocols while attending these functions.

Meanwhile, Mokgoro confirmed that the province is currently experiencing a resurgence in cases. The province has updated its emergency mitigation plan in April 2021 with key intervention pillars, such as epidemiology, surveillance and expansion of the vaccination programme, amongst others.
