The police in the Free State confirms investigations into the deaths of a family whose bodies were found at their house in Victoria Road, Bloemfontein, continues.

Police spokesperson, Thandi Mbambo, says results of the post-mortem are not yet available.

OFM News reported that four bodies of the family, consisting of two children aged 17 and 14, as well as two parents were found last week Thursday. The bodies were found following information received by the police about a house that was burning

Mbambo said the bodies of the father and mother had no visible injuries while that of the two children “were found with stab wounds and their throats slit”. She said a case of murder, inquest and arson was as a result registered. She now confirms investigations still continues, but no info can be shared at this stage.

Whilst messages of condolences continues to stream in on social media, with schools where the children attended also paying tributes to the friends and relatives of the family, Mbambo tells OFM News the family requested the police not to release the names of the deceased.
