With the rising number of Covid-19 cases in the North West province over the past two weeks, the Health MEC Madoda Sambatha has expressed his deep concern.

Sambatha said that up until yesterday, the province had recorded a total of 101 096 positive case and 82 620 recoveries, which results in a 81.7% recovery rate. Sambatha also stated that the average number of cases that have been reported this last week hangs around more than a 1 000 a day.

“We still plead with our communities to adhere to basic preventative measures to curb the spread of Covid-19 infections. It is up to us to stop this deadly virus, therefore our communities should take the responsibility and not wait for government to police them for compliance, it is in our hands,” said Sambatha.

OFM News reported that the North West Premier, Job Mokgoro, had committed himself to ensure that Covid-19 campaigns are intensified through effective mobilisation of targeted individuals in the province. Meanwhile, Sambatha pleaded with all eligible people to continue to register for vaccinations.
