This, after panic was caused by a circulating voice note, stating there will be water interruptions affecting Sedibeng Water.

The two municipalities told residents there is no planned water interruptions. Sedibeng Water is the water board responsible for the provision of water in the Free State, North West and Northern Cape.

Following this voice note, residents started storing water for any eventuality.

Parts of Gauteng have this week been without water, after an explosion at Rand Water pump station.
