#CoronavirusFS: Local author releases children’s book | News Article

Thaba 'Nchu born author, Charmaine Mrwebi, has authored 18 books, and has just penned her latest.

Mrwebi recently published a book called Mama’s Little Helper which strives to encourage mothers and their children to do fun things to keep themselves busy during the pandemic.

She says the book focuses on children between the ages of 5 to 12 years, and is published in four different South African languages - English, Afrikaans, Sesotho, and Setswana. Mrwerbi says the book teaches readers that there are many ways to pass long, dreary hours where it feels one has nothing to do - more especially during lockdown. Mrwebi also hopes to teach readers that this might not be an easy time , but it can give parents the opportunity to bond with their children.

“What is special about Mama’s Little Helper is that parents today have drifted away from their children and vice versa. Most parents spend most of their time away in the work environment and children spend most of their time at school or on social media. This book will renew relations between parents and children,” Mrwebi says.

Mrwebi is the author of 18 books, including four poetry collections, 12 children books, one adult fiction novel, one memoir, and edited and compiled two other books. As a publisher under her independent small publishing house called “Charmza Literary Club Publishing House” she has published over 20 authors from all over the Free State and has successfully launched their books, profiled them and sold these stories to over 300 libraries and local book stores.

Mama’s Little Helper is already available and those interested can order their copy by calling 079 942 3178 or sending an email to segakidsprogram@gmail.com or molelekoatake@gmail.com.

Mrwebi says she will courier the book to those outside Thaba 'Nchu, adding the book will be available in independent book stores all over South Africa from September.
