Communications manager at the Tshepong Hospital Complex in the North West, Nico Masiu, has told OFM News that the hospital management has resolved to immediately resume deep cleaning of the wards.
This, after the Matlosana-based hospital closed three of its medical wards.
According to a statement issued by the Health Department, Health MEC Madoda Sambatha has requested the closure due to the possibility of a Covid-19 outbreak at the hospital.
One of the senior medical specialists at Tshepong Hospital, Dr Dikhing Mahole, transferred all positive Covid-19 patients to a special ward for isolation.
MEC Sambatha says the situation is under control and that the closure of the wards is an intervention strategy.
