#CoronavirusNW: More than 2000 police vaccinated─── 07:27 Sun, 18 Jul 2021
The North West South African Police Services (SAPS) are pleased with the steady vaccination progress in the province.
According to SAPS spokesperson in North West, Sabata Mokgwabone, more police officers are expected to register for Covid-19 vaccines as more sites will be opening.
"We can confirm the public that the vaccination drive in the North West Province is progressing well. The roll-out started on July 8 in Potchefstroom, and to date we have managed to vaccinate 2 409 employees. Besides Potchefstroom, where the rollout was held, we also managed to open three more sites; one in Pudumong, one in Vryburg, and one in Zeerust," said Mokgwabone.
OFM News previously reported that an overflow of police employees were showing up for vaccines due to the merger between the Potchefstroom and Jouberton sites. Mokgwabone stated that the vaccination programme is now progressing smoothly due to the further opening of other sites.
