Police to verify alleged kidnapping in NW─── LUCKY NKUYANE 15:27 Tue, 27 Jul 2021

Residents of Jouberton, otherwise known as J-Town in Klerksdorp, North West, have been shocked by allegations of an alleged kidnapping of a young girl in that area.
The unconfirmed news of the alleged kidnapping of the young girl in that area surfaced on Monday after her voice note, pleading for help from loved ones, did the rounds on social media. In her voice note, the young woman sobs and explains that she was kidnapped by a black vehicle with dark windows while on her way to school and the alleged perpetrators at one stage threatened to shoot her.
Police spokesperson, Adele Myburgh, tells OFM News that according to information on the ground, no formal complaint has been lodged with the Jouberton police.
Myburgh, however, says the police are on the ground and will seek to verify the information.
This news of the alleged kidnapping comes a few days after the police in that area issued a warning to motorists driving between Orkney and Klerksdorp about the new trend of hijackers in the Matlosana Local Municipality.
Police spokesperson, Aafje Botma, in a statement said on Thursday 22 July 2021, at about 15:30, a car belonging to a 39-year-old man got hijacked by gun-wielding men near Kanana.
This man had just returned from Klerksdorp where he bought stock for his tuck shop and as he entered the Kanana Location near Orkney through the bridge, two men got out of a black Volkswagen Polo which was parked next to the road and allegedly pointed their firearms at him."
Upon stopping, one of the men opened the door, but the driver managed to escape by running away and the suspects drove off with his Nissan van loaded with stock," Botma added.
