#MandelaMonth: NW old age homes prioritised─── KATLEHO MORAPELA 10:43 Wed, 28 Jul 2021
With the month of July - commonly known as Mandela Month - drawing to an end, several old age homes and non-governmental organisations (NGO) in the North West might finally receive the help they have been looking for.
This, as the department of Economic Development embarks on an outreach programme. The department, led by MEC Kenetswe Mosenogi, is at the Rekagona Old Age Care Centre in Brits on Wednesday where they are handing over parcels needed by the facility. It is confirmed that the cleaning of the centre will form part of the programme.
Mosenogi says it is of high importance to promote the spirit of giving during this month, especially when millions of people are affected by the coronavirus. She says the department will be working much closer with NGOs to reach more old age homes.
