An incident that led to the death of a Kimberley man in the Northern Cape and the alleged involvement of police officers is currently being investigated by the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID).
The deceased was allegedly arrested by police officers for drinking in public.
Witnesses say he was then put into a police vehicle, but instead of being transported to be taken into custody, he was allegedly forced to drink his litre of alcohol.
Witnesses said he then later collapsed and died.
Media questions were sent to the police in Kimberley and the police spokesperson said the case has been handed over to IPID.
OFM News also sent detailed questions to the police watchdog and is awaiting a response.
