NW department hit by claims of corruption─── LUCKY NKUYANE 06:17 Fri, 06 Aug 2021
The North West Department of Social Development has been rocked by allegations of bribery and corruption.
It's alleged that these allegations involve officials from supply chain management.
The MEC for the department, Boitumelo Moiloa, in a statement says her department has since launched an investigation into allegations and that consequence management will be instituted.
Moiloa says her department is committed to conducting its business in an ethical manner and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
“The provincial leadership takes the fight against corruption seriously and advocates for zero tolerance on bribery and corruption. Under my instruction, the department has put measures in place to speed up the process of finalising this investigation. The people of Bokone Bophirima (North West) can rest assured that consequence management will be instituted if any illegality is uncovered,” Moiloa adds.
She says proper investigation is necessary to enable successful prosecution where it is due.
Moiloa has made a plea to anyone with evidence on corrupt activities involving officials to email such to Corruptionnotice@nwpg.gov.za.
