Free State Premier Sisi Ntombela has added her voice to that of Agriculture minister, condemning acts of violence, following the brutal murders of five family members on the Toekoms Farm this past weekend.

She said that she was shocked by these barbaric farm murders outside of Harrismith in the Free State. Ntombela said while the country was celebrating Women’s Day on Monday 9 August 2021, she was at Harrismith to offer her condolences to the relatives and friends of the Maloka family who were butchered in their farm house.

“I find it absolutely shocking that people, including children, could be butchered in such a callous manner. It is unacceptable that a family died in such an appalling fashion. I trust the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation will move with the necessary speed to bring the criminals to book. We demand justice for the family,” said Ntombela.

OFM News reported on the manhunt launched by the Free State police after it was alleged that the traditional healer had discovered bodies of Mgwenika John Twala, Sonto Maloka, and their children Zama Maloka, Mfanafuthi Justine
and the 6-year-old Nompumelelo Emily Maloka, on Saturday 7 August 2021, while he was there for an appointment he had with the family.
