Third body retrieved from FS dam following accident─── 15:04 Thu, 12 Aug 2021
Free State police have finally recovered the third body in the Oranjeville Dam after a vehicle left the Magrieta Prinsloo Bridge on Monday.
Following OFM News reports that only two bodies of Lucky Hlapo and Thugela Mguni, aged 20 and 34 respectively, were found on Wednesday, Free State police spokesperson Motantsi Makhele stated that police divers' search and rescue team earlier on Thursday resumed with the search and retrieval of the missing person and motor vehicle.
OFM News also reported that Makhele had said that allegations suggested that the motor vehicle crashed into the steel barriers of the bridge and left the road, ending up in the deep water.
He said that a towing service was roped in for assistance and that a red Kia Sportage was recovered from the dam at about 10 am. A body of a man, identified by his next of kin as Lefunyana Tsotetsi (42), was found trapped inside the vehicle. Makhele also stated that a case of culpable homicide was registered for further investigations.
