Police reunite missing 14-year-old with her parents | News Article

An emotional mother of a 14-year-old girl from Bloemfontein expressed her appreciation towards the police after they put in a great deal of effort to return her child back home.

Free State police spokesperson, Motantsi Makhele, said that on Saturday 21 August 2021, at about 10:00, Sergeant Bokamoso Peter, assisted by Mangaung Crime Prevention, followed a lead after the 14-year-old Musa Tladi was reported missing. Makhele says that the operation was successful after police received information about the whereabouts of the child and proceeded to Phelindaba in Bloemfontein, where the teenager was located and afterwards safely reunited with her parents.

Makhele said the 14-year-old child was reported missing after she was last seen on 16 August 2021 when she went out to play at her parent's home in Ntema Street, at Rocklands in Mangaung, at about 18:05.

Makhele said that parents should monitor their children frequently when playing outside and teach children from an early age about the danger strangers may pose.
