This, after Tebogo Mokgomo (45) and Matevane Mokatsanyane (42) made a brief appearance before the Stilfontein Magistrate's Court where their case was postponed to next week. The duo is facing murder charges after the 29-year-old Palesa Maruping was found hanging inside the bedroom of a house in Khuma Location near Stilfontein. Police spokesperson, Aafje Botma, says the two remains in custody until their formal bail application.

Maruping's body was found hanging on 18 August. It is alleged that the pair stole the victim’s two cell phones, locked her inside the house and later hanged her.  

Matevane Mokatsanyane is the owner of the house where the victim stayed and Tebogo Mokgomo is the victim’s boyfriend.

Meanwhile, the Provincial Commissioner of North West, Sello Kwena, has condemned the incident and vowed to leave no stone unturned in ensuring that the accused are convicted.
