NW father in court for daughter's murder─── 12:05 Tue, 07 Sep 2021
A 47-year old man, Mokete Legodi, who is facing charges related to the kidnapping and murder of his 2-year old daughter, will appear before the Klerksdorp magistrate court on Tuesday.
This follows after his submitted intention to apply for bail during his last appearance in August.
National Prosecuting Authoring North West spokesperson, Henry Mamothame, said the state intends to oppose bail. Legodi has been detained in police custody since his arrest in Alabama on 16 May 2021.
It is alleged he went to his girlfriend's home in Jouberton, Extension 20, and took their daughter without the mother's consent.
She was in hospital at the time.
A case of kidnapping was registered against him after he denied taking the child.
A day later neighbours found the child's body hidden inside the ceiling at Legodi's house.
