MEC Fufe Makatong, standing in as the Economic Development and Tourism MEC, tells OFM News plans are afoot to ensure that the industry recovers after being hard-hit by the Covid-19 pandemic. The province is currently amongst those with the highest number of positive active cases. She confirms the province, like the rest of the country, suffered a great loss and shed jobs. 

Makatong, however, says they are confident that with more vaccines being rolled out, the province will be seeing more and more tourists. The province, geographically larger than the other provinces, boasts mountain views, indigenous plants and flowers, and as well as some extreme sporting activities.
