Health MEC to report on alleged negligence, hostage situation─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 08:44 Tue, 14 Sep 2021
Another patient's suspected case of negligence, which resulted in death, is in the spotlight in the North West province.
This is after the North West Health Department released a statement stating that Health MEC Madoda Sambatha will be visiting the Blydeville and Coligny Health Facilities on Friday afternoon.
The visit was expected to take place following an alleged case of negligence that resulted in another death, and that nurses were allegedly taken hostage at a health facility just outside Lichtenburg.
In a statement, the department said that Sambatha was expected to seek facts and report pertaining to allegations that a patient died outside the Coligny Health Facility because it was closed while nurses were on strike. Meanwhile, it was also alleged that nurses were held hostage by protesters.
The department is yet to respond to OFM News' media enquiries.
