Nepotism and negligence concern those living with disabilities in Qwaqwa─── 10:00 Sat, 18 Sep 2021
The residents of Maluti-a-Phofung, those living with disabilities, in particular, are not happy about how the municipality is selecting people for employment.
As a result, residents decided to march and hand over their memorandum of grievances to the office of the executive mayor on Friday.
Mandla Radebe, the chief marshal, told OFM News that they have had enough of what they call a dysfunctional municipality.
He added that as people living with disabilities, they want members of the Mayoral Committee to understand what their needs are. Their main concern is nepotism in the hiring department of the municipality.
Residents have given the municipality seven days to respond to their grievances.
An officer in the mayoral office, Jeremiah Keele, received the memorandum and promised to hand it over to the executive mayor.
