#WorldTourismDay: All eyes on Free State─── KATLEHO MORAPELA 12:01 Mon, 27 Sep 2021
All eyes are on the Free State as the province celebrates World Tourism Day in Clarens.
With the industry having been hard-hit by the Covid-19 pandemic, hopes are high that local businesses will soon recover.
Spokesperson for the Department of Small Business Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (DESTEA) Kgotso Tau, tells OFM News they are hosting the event to promote the Free State as a tourists attraction province and boost the economy.
He confirms all guest houses in and around the Clarens, Bethlehem area have been fully booked and are expecting other entrepreneurs in the eastern Free State to also benefit from the event.
He says all attendees will engage in various activities as part of exploring the province.
Tau’s statement comes amidst growing calls for inclusive growth and job creation in the province and country at large.
