Deputy IPC convenor, Sisi Ntombela, on Wednesday announced that arrogance and disrespect will not be tolerated.

The IPC met with five regions, including Fezile Dabi, which reportedly sought an intervention by acting ANC Secretary-General (SG), Jessie Duarte, over alleged threats that the IPC planned to disband the regions and reconfigure them.

Duarte in a letter addressed to the Free State IPC, among others, said despite the end of the term in office, the structures must not be disbanded for the duration of the local government elections campaign.

During a meeting that took place in Welkom, Ntombela further appealed to ANC councillors and regions to internalize and practice the ANC pledge.

“We reminded our councillor candidates of the task that lies ahead.  We reminded them of the words of President Cyril Ramaphosa at the launch of our manifesto on 27 September, who appealed to our candidates to conduct themselves in a disciplined and ethical manner. We pledged to work hard and campaign for the ANC,” she adds.
